Satori is a Japanese Buddhist term for awakening and is also commonly known as enlightenment. It is called Satori because of the life-altering power of Bitcoin. Many Bitcoin users will attest that they see their lives as divided into two main periods; before understanding Bitcoin and after understanding Bitcoin.
The Satori Coin physical Bitcoin project emerged in 2015 in Japan, when a hardcore Bitcoin enthusiast, a talented designer and a crypto engineer got together, with the goal to launch an easy method of spreading the power of Bitcoin. No wallet needed, just pass it on from hand to hand, to your friends and loved ones. Over 50,000 pcs were made and sold throughout the globe, most notably to Europe, Canada and Australia.
Regrettably, the project had to shut down in 2018 due to regulatory tightening.
But we are now back at last. The grass roots mission of promoting the Bitcoin vision lives on.
